Amanda C. Borth is a social science researcher by training and an engagement practitioner in action. By bridging theory, methods, and on-the-ground knowledge, she develops new ways for community, public, stakeholder, and expert perspectives to converge into meaningful guidance for responsible science decision-making. Amanda’s approach draws on her expertise in science and climate change communication, deliberative democracy, and climate intervention technologies. Before joining the Future of Science team at the Association of Science and Technology Centers, Amanda served as an Associate Research Professional at Arizona State University’s Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes. She also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at George Mason University’s Center for Climate Change Communication, Project Coordinator at American University’s Institute for Responsible Carbon Removal, and Museum Educator at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, among other positions. Amanda earned her Ph.D. in science communication from George Mason University in 2023 and a B.A. in international studies from American University in Washington, D.C., in 2018.
