Project focus: The Fellow will partner with Chinese and Chinese American communities in New York City to co-create and test culturally relevant hepatitis B communication, generating a replicable model for participatory infectious disease engagement. 

Ang Li is a multilingual storyteller and communications professional whose work sits at the intersection of journalism, cross-cultural communication, and public engagement. Originally from China, she has spent more than seven years creating and shaping stories across languages, cultures, and media platforms, with a particular interest in making complex information accessible, relevant, and meaningful to diverse audiences. Before joining The Rockefeller University, Ang worked as an editor and journalist in Hong Kong, where she led editorial initiatives, produced multimedia stories, interviewed people from diverse backgrounds, and developed content for international audiences. Most recently, she served as an English editor at the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute, translating and editing complex academic and historical material for an English-speaking readership. Her experience spans journalism, multimedia production, translation, research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Ang holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and an M.A. in journalism from New York University. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, she now brings her cross-cultural perspective and storytelling experience to RockEDU Science Outreach at The Rockefeller University.
